Our world is filled with difficulties and adversity. No one is spared the tough moments, the heartaches, the worries, or the doubts. There are times when the problems in our life feel like a massive storm that is looming on the horizon. At other times, we feel as though we are in the midst of the downpour, stranded and alone, waiting to be rescued. Sometimes it is very hard to believe that we will survive the storms in our life or that they will ever pass. Instead, we tell ourselves that things will never change, that we will never change, that hope is only a nice word, and healing only applies to physical wounds, not emotional ones. We tell ourselves that the reality that we are living is the only one, and that nothing will ever be better. But this is not the truth. You see, the storm will pass, change can happen, hope does exist, and healing emotional wounds is possible.
GCTW was created as a safe space for children, teens, and adults to come and heal. Matthew 11:28 says “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.” (NASB) GCTW believes that our work with patients is more than a career, it is a calling from God. It is also an honor to be able to walk with our patients through the storms in their lives in order to help them reach a place of healing. We will use a variety of techniques and interventions to help meet the needs of our patients. Whether it is recovering from trauma, dealing with mental illness, learning to cope with heartache and loss, or needing a safe place where you can be heard, we are here to help.
